Life by Design
Module Four of The Zest Life is called Life by Design, and it is the module women tend to feel least ready for when they start the course or the programme, and most grateful for by the time they reach it.
It begins with values, not goals. Before setting a single target, the module asks you to identify what genuinely matters to you, distinct from what you have absorbed from other people’s expectations. This sounds simple. In practice, many women find it is the first time anyone has asked them this question directly in years.
From there, the module moves into a goal-setting framework built around alignment rather than achievement. A goal that fits your actual values tends to hold up under pressure. A goal borrowed from someone else’s life rarely does.
The module also covers building a sustainable weekly rhythm, the kind of ordinary structure, meals, sleep, movement, time alone, that holds you up on the days you have nothing left to plan with. And it closes with a forward-looking exercise, picturing your life a year from now, not as a fantasy, but as a working draft you can revise as you go.
None of this asks you to know your whole future. It asks you to take one deliberate step, built on something that actually matters to you, rather than another reactive one.
If designing what comes next feels too big a question right now, that is exactly why this module exists. Read more at thezestlife.co.nz.
